This sunday before the Saint Patrick'sDay two mega racing events were held.most of us who love formula 1 are already aware of the Bahrain Grand Prix 2010 but due to the lack of media coverage and multinational sponsorship the Karachi Donkey cart race 2010
failed to attract much interest even here in karachi as well but somehow the Hamara karachi foundation manage to pull it through once again the route of this race is very interesting it starts from the fisherman's village and end at Clifton promenade.

Fernando Alonso described it as “a special day” after he won his first race with Ferrari, describing his new employers as “the best team in the world”.

The best thing about being on the InnerNet (internet) and the Twitter is that you get to learn about many new and unbelievable things through the trending....things that are just so out of whack that if you tell it to somebody who does not know about it...might make fun of you asking if you had your medications or not or if happens to have more than enough to drink..."hey man are you high..?" That is why I rarely discuss the new found thing on the innerNet (internet) with my off line buddies...now this Pi Day thing that I found on the InnerNet(internet) today sounds so weird to me that I don't think I could ever tell it to somebody who I believe would never understand....a Pi represented by this greek alphabet is equal to 3.14.....in physics or maths...has something to do with a circle or the area inside the circle....but because its the 14th of march(3)...they call it the Pi Day...Congratutlations! Happy Pi Day to all...!

Jamia binoria is one of the leading religious educational instituion of Pakistan...its been imparting religious education to students as young as very young toddlars as well as learned scholars and imams of the mosques not only from karachi but all over the pakistan's far flung areas and beyond...for many many years...ever since childhood I have been watching and visiting the Binoritown mosque...never really got to study there as my parents send me to an english medium school....but it was very close to my law school so after school i often offered my prayers there...I still like to pray at this large mosques whenever I get a chance....now the thing is that they are pro-taleban and I am anti-taleban so how can you explain this....Well,if you are a meat lover like me and have an experience of buying it fresh here in karachi you will know that the meat sellers are the weirdest of all traders in town....you walk in the dehli mutton shop or the macca mutton shop and ask a one kg mutton leg piece...you will never get one kg of pure mutton leg...they will mix a fifty fifty from other unsellable parts of the animal such as the ribs and loin...there is no such thing as a customer's choice when you are in their shops...either you buy as they sell or you buy the whole goat...and better still if you slaughter it your self at home...because they trade on their own terms or they wont...and because its a tough business...nobody not even the poor government can handle it without them....so why I am not disturbed by their attitude...because not everybody at the table is fond of the same portion of the the meat...some like the leg and the bone marrow others prefer the chest with thick white fat....and so on...the mix-up is so much in my favor that what they do to tease me is what I actually need.and when I or whoever brings the meat home and hands it over to ladies for cooking...they love it...and when it is served on the table after cooking everybody enjoys it.So they do their business according to their ways and community guidelines and I have to learn the ways that suits me most...similar is the case of this religious institution which runs on donations and charity and yet it is expected to be very rigid ,uncompromising and truthful.It is indeed complimentary that so far they have not succumbed to pressures both within and from the outside.The thing that still attracts me towards them is that not only they are there for me but now it seems they are everywhere for me.I have learned a lot from them and I hope to continue this no matter if Karachi remains under taleban or falls into the US.

New Shops timings for karachi markets...

The Govenment of Sindh has recently announced that with effective from the 15th of March 2010...all shops and markets in karachi will open at 9:00 am and close at 8:00 pm. Hotels and restaurants were exempted from the restriction.

Pakistan Navy test fires missles...

Pakistan navy is having an exercise and a weapon test in the Arabian sea off the coast....they claim to have successfully tested a number of new and old toys in their arsenal.
The tests included anti-surface missiles from an F-22P frigate, acquired recently from China, air-to-surface missiles from P-3C aircraft and sub surface-to-surface missiles from Agosta 90B submarines that originate from France.

People around the world who constantly keep on praying for Pakistan Navy and its well-wishers are totally aware of the usual naval excerises held annually by the secret code name of SEA SPARK and surely this is not what they had last year by the name of AMAN09 in which many friendly Navies were invited.
So the question is what's going on here is it a coup...or they are trying to sell the junk to interested buyers...

Another pro-taleban scholar assassinated mafia style

Every Friday there is a special Religious page in the daily Jang the largest circulation Urdu newspaper in Karachi.....and on that page is a Q&A column by the title of "Aap kay masail aur unn ka hal" meaning "your problems and its solutions" where a religious scholar answers the questions put forward by the readers of the newspaper in the light of Quran (the islamic holy book) ,sunna (teachings of holy prophet muhammad) and sharia (the islamic laws).I started reading this column more than a dacade ago...but unfortunately three of the Successive pro-taleban scholars have so far been killed on the streets of Karachi....the very recent being the Mufti Saeed Ahmed Jalalpuri of Aalmi Tahaffuz-i-Khatm-i-Nabuwat....who was assassinated yesterday ,Thursday evening when they were returning from Jamia Masjid Khatman-un-Nabi on Metrovill Road in Gulshan-i-Iqbal area.
So the fate of the column hangs in a balance....there may not be a shortage of another pro-taleban scholar in jamia Binoria ...but the question is can a newspaper takes another chance by continuing an infamous column which could be labeled as a death column....

Mufti Nizamudin Shamzai

May 30,2004 A senior Deobandi religious scholar and head of Islamic religious school Jamia Binoria, Mufti Nizamuddin Shamzai was gunned down in his car while leaving his home in Karachi.

m scholar and Naib Amir (Vice President) of Aalmi Majlis-i-Tahafuz-i-Khatm-i-Nabuwwat . He was born in EsaPur, Ludhiana, Eastern Punjab, India and was killed in Karachi, Pakistan.

Maulana Yousuf came to Pakistan in 1947 and obtained early education at Multan's Khairul Madaris. Before joining Jamia Uloom-i-Islamia Binori Town, where he had been teaching Hadith, the Maulana had studied at Faisalabad and Sahiwal.

Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has signed the Protection Against Harassment of Women Bill, 2010, which prohibits harassment of women at the workplace.

Addressing a gathering of some distinguished women guests at the Presidency after signing the historic bill, Zardari said people wanting to harm the ideology of Muhammad Ali Jinnah would not be spared, and that the government is committed to providing a bright future for the coming generations.

“We have to create a Pakistan where the coming generations, my daughters, can be proud of the fact that they live on an equal level as men. We will make sure that those who wish to harm the ideology of Quaid-e-Azam, which was equality for men and women, shall not succeed,” Zardari, as said.

Zardari also asked the private sector to cooperate in the implementation of the act in letter and spirit, The Daily Times reports.

Under the bill, each organization would constitute an inquiry committee, comprising three members, including a female member, within 30 days to inquire into complaints

The Protection against Harassment of Women at Workplace Bill makes the offense punishable with imprisonment, which may extend to three years, or a fine of up to 500,000 rupees or both.(ANI)
