Papa died four years ago on Friday the 14th of December 2007 which according to the islamic calender was the 3rd of zil-hajj (dhul hijjah) 1428 H . An Islamic month begins with the sighting of the new moon.So every year there is a difference of about ten days the islamic year being shorter.
In the past four years the difference of the Anniversary day has grown up to more than a month and a half.When the difference is shorter people agree on a common and convenient date to celebrate the sad anniversary...but when the difference increases those who can offer fateha and remember the dearly departed ,do it twice and those who don't want to or can't have a good excuse that "its not today...!!"
So far me and my Papa's family have very fond memories of him so we have no problem sitting together at His Dinner table and offer Fateha(prayer for the deceased) and eat.We may do this again in December so I like to call it "the first fourth death Anniversary " :(
