Rabi ul Awwal:the month of blessings and celebration

Rabi ul Awwal the third Islamic month is the month of the birth of the prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him).Here in the part of of Karachi where I live the eid -i-milad is celebrated from the the first of rabi ul awwal to the 12th of this month and beyond...Mosques ,buildings, shops,streets and houses are Illuminated with colorful lights and green flags.Large gatherings are held both private and public to sing the praise of Allah (hamd) and praise of Prophet (naat).learned scholars give sermons and explains the life and teachings of the prophet mohammad (saw) .The private gatherings are usually held in the houses of rich and elders of the family...where all the family and friends and neighbors are invited best food is usually served which makes the event more festive.
