Is Karachi the New Frontier.....?

It is believed that the largest number of people from Khyber-Pukhtunkha(formerly known as NWFP or the North West Frontier Province or simply frontier)outside their province live here in Karachi.Until recently the people of karachi knew them as Pathans...and treated them alike...but now there seems to be a huge divide emerging between them. One group is rejoicing while for others the struggle is only just began...Now there are two problems for the people of Karachi and the investors..
i,Both groups of Pukhtuns and Hazara wals are armed and dangerous...
ii,if their nationalism grew...and they left kar
achi could become a deserted ghost town...
It is interesting to note that contrary to the general belief that the Pukhtuns are more powerful....here in Pakistan the people of Hazara wal are more influential....fieldmartial Gen Ayub Khan the first general to impose Martial law in Pakistan and end the common wealth's and Her Majesty's rule in Pa
kistan was a hazara wal...his son the seasoned politician and former speaker of National assembly Mr Gohar Ayub Khan...seems to be very vocal for the creation of a separate province for Hazara wal...
The general succeeding Gen ayub khan when he became the president of Pakistan in 1958...was gen Musa Khan...also from a Hazara tribe...the list seems to be endless....b
ut what I remembered just now is that there was a very friendly guard at the 20 bleakhouse road ....the place which housed the last British council library...he used to check the body and belongings with a hand-held scanner on my way in and used to check the issue stamp on the borrowed books as quickly as possible....on the way out....of all my borrowed books over the years that frisked through his gentle hands...the only one he noticed with admiration was a Persian tutorial very basic....lol
