To be or not to be...the King ...?

Yesterday was One of those days...yes people who are born, bred or have had bread for a period of time ..here in karachi may know exactly what I meant by it....On a day like yesterday everybody wakes up excited or quickly learns that something is about to happen...something big...sometimes it does and sometimes it does not happen....that's the beauty of it...
So as expected first breaking news of the day was that the lahore High court dismissed the Interior Minister and Honerable Senator Rehman Malik's review petition thus his sentence stood restored.....speculation were pointing towards a resignation and then arrest of the honorable senator....but President Zardari on the advice of the PrimeMinister of Pakistan using his presidential powers under article 45 of the constitution of Pakistan remitted the sentence.
45. President's power to grant pardon, etc.
The President shall have power to grant pardon, reprieve and respite, and to remit, suspend or commute any sentence passed by any court, tribunal or other authority.
Now all this is happening or has happened in the backdrop of another political and constitutional debate going on in the country as to what role should the president have or should have after the restoration of Parliamentry form of government through the 18th Amendment to the constitution of pakistan of 1973.
The Lahore High court fired another shot in this regard....by issuing notice to the President Zardari on dual office i.e the office of President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the ofice of the Co-Chairperson of Pakistan peoples party which he shares with his own son Bilawal.
Now imagine this all happening on the same day and to add spice in the lives of the people of Karachi...The president and the chief justice of supreme court and many others were here on private visits....wow.
Recently President Zardari agreed to giving up all the constitutional powers of the president that made him the king of Pakistan accumulated over the years by the able leadership of former Presidents of Pakistan who were also military dictators and wanted to be the King of Pakistan
well if we look back at the history of pakistan many people have dreamed of being a king of Pakistan from Iskandar Mirza(first President) to Pervaz Musharruf
(first CEO)
It is still not clear what President Zardari is dreaming right now because so far all that he has done and let happen only suggests that he wants to be a leader like the Queen of England....

If the high court decides that he must leave the office of the party co-chair then he may have very little say left in the affairs of the state.Or if he does so on his own due to the pressures within the party...than there will be very little chance for him to be able to keep the office of the President as well...so there is no chance of President Zardari becoming the Queen of Pakistan...or whatever...

Now the thing is that while the lahore High court was reviewing his past ..president zardari was present in karachi...so his future must be safe in Islamabad....or he couldn't be here saving his lieutenant..I remember numerous similar days during the previous Musharraf regime....but I don't recall him being here in karachi on any of those day....having the benefit of dual garb (Army chief +President)himself...don't know why I always felt that he had something to do with the fierce campaigns against him....and soon after he surrendered the army uniform and staff....he was gone without any of those days.... Just like that...
