Khatam ay Quran....

today after the prayer and taravee ....these small sized fruit cakes were distributed by the family or friends of a happy young hafiz who finished the thirteen days taravee...today at his home in the neighborhood...he must have learned from somebody at the mosque.Most traders who have to open shops in Ramadan in the night arrange the taravee prayers at their homes for less number of days usually ten with 3 chapters(para) of quran recited everyday....whereas in the mosques its one chapter (para) per day...there are 30 chapters of quran and in the holy month of Ramadan unless the eid moon is not sighted on the 29th of the month...there are 29 certain nights...and on that 29th night the katam ay quran is done.some even finish on the 27th night because it is considered to be shab ay qadar...one of the most holiest nights...and while praying and asking for what your heart desires from the Almighty...it appears to be better if you have finished the quran and done few other good deeds...in this month when you spread your hands in front of the lord Almighty.
Anyways....the cake was fresh and very tasty....and it was from my favorite bakers....so I congratulate the hafiz saab and thank and pray for the prosperity of the sponsors.Amen!

I will survive......

Indus delta....the place where it all ends....

After destroying homes and properties of millions of Pakistani's this is the place where this flood 2010 ends...The Indus Delta...about 105 km(65.3 miles) away from Karachi...some still fear that due to the high tide and full moon at the time when the most severe stream of flood water hits the delta...chances are that the sea could throw it back to the land....lets hope they are wrong....

my dear dOctOr saab….and to whom it may concern….here you are trying to make me cry over the cream on the sides of the box…when I am only interested in the whole cake….Karachi has three main non-political stakeholders as you may be aware….The memons,the chinotis and the punjabi sudagaran ay dehli….they were the almighty in karachi in 1984 and they are even more powerful today….no matter how badly the lord bashes the rest of Pakistan like in the current floods ….memons of karachi prospers.similarly when the wrath of the God befalleth upon the Europeans….the chinoti industrialists of karachi becomes richer….and the third PSAD of karachi prospers in every disaster anywhere in the world…..do you remember the Market capitalization in KSE before the earthquake in Pakistan….and see today….every year in Ramadan we have a very bearish market….very little trading….and see the trend this worst disaster week in the history of Pakistan……there is a desperate demand for textile,food and allied,building and construction,oil and petroleum….you name it and the memon of karachi have it….now Iam sure you would be getting bored because I am not mentioning your dear bhatta party….they have no industry in karachi, no trade, no commerce,no business sense….they are only the guinea pigs used by the vested interests….and they get paid for it….very few members of your bhatta party has their own homes….even the most popular leaders live in rented houses…including late mr raza haider mpa(god bless his soul)….and after the flood they will be the ones who will suffer the most here in karachi….because as the memons of karachi prospers due to the floods….the prices of property in karachi will be doubled…they are already way beyond the reach of the ordinary hardworking Muhajirs…..even an employee of a multinational cannot buy a modest flat after ten years of hard labor….anywhere in karachi….the government servants,armed forces and workers of private firms can only dream of having their own homes….in karachi.

MQM-A leader Hussein fled in 1992 to Britain, where he received asylum in 1999 (Jane’s 14 Feb 2003). The MQM-A is not on the U.S. State Department’s list of foreign terrorist organizations (U.S. DOS 23 May 2003).

11th Ramadan 1431....

Every one of you who know me from before my birth or since my deaths...is aware that every year on this day we remember my grand father who died more than half a century ago on this day...in karachi before my birth.so the fact is that I never got a chance to see my grand father or to learn anything from him.All I know about him is from what has been told to me by my family and especially my dearly departed Papa (God bless his soul) who loved his father more than I could ever love him.When Papa was alive this day used to be the most important day of the calender and of the holy month of Ramadan a gathering of family and friends for the iftar dinner and offering fateha was a must.come rain or shine...since papa's death almost three years ago...we still do offer the fateha...but very quietly with reverence lest zeal.

The most interesting thing about this death anniversary is that today the abandoned uncultivatable small piece of farm land in the banks of river indus near kotri owned by my grand father is in the worst flood with fears of a permenant damage to the kotri barrage and the drowning in flood water of the kotri city and villages all around.

And some refugee of this flood from sindh and khyber-pakhtunka are being graciously  settle in a camp near the unlivable residential society of my Papa which was already under a constant land-grabing threat...and other care taker issues...Now today I am thanking God that despite continuous pressures, classified of course,  from most major services and Airforces of British and common wealth countries ....I firmly skulked in the past decade and did not let the Americans name an unusable piece of land in my name....Only God knows what might be happening there today....Merci
