It rained cats & dogs here in Karachi all afternoon...so there was no chance of moon being sighted here in karachi.The met office had already announced earlier that there was no chance of moon being sighted today due to its position in relation with the earth.
The Ruet ay hilal committee in karachi also decided after lengthy deliberations that moon was not sighted.And so eid ul fitr will be celebrated across Pakistan on Saturday 11th september 2010.
The Peshawer's Mosque Qasim ali khan once again decided to celebrate eid a day earlier on friday...so in most parts of Khyber-Pakhtunkha eid will be celebrated ...on friday 10th september...
Well actually very few people in the country could be in a mood to celebrate eid so this decision to celebrate eid on one day or two seperate days does not make any real difference this time....Ha Ha.
Now all eyes in Pakistan are fixed on the outcome of the first ODI between Pakistan and England tomorrow at Chester-le Street...on the eve of Eid usually called Chand Raat....if...and there is a big IF by any Chance Pakistan wins that ODI....this God forsaken Nation will definitely have a lot to cheer and talk about on the Eid day....but the way Pakistan cricket team is stuck in a spider's web
right now...this seems to be more difficult than sigthing the moon....to have an Eid.
