I don't know why but it feel that this movie is in a race for some Big Award or something....and my vote or candid opinion counts...will make a tremendous difference for the future of this movie...if that is correct then i would definitely wants to know who is the runner up and why is it so important.Anyways the movie is very imaginative and creative...it has utilized so many modes of transportation so convincingly ...Amazing ! lol

a spoon should have been ok to mix it up ...or maybe a hand blender...but they seems to have used the whole food factory by changing shifts of queued staff....very disappointed !!

23 muharrum 1433:Fateha for Hazrat Imam Hussain and the martyrs of Karbala

Today we offered fateha for hazrat imam Hussain A.S and the martyrs of Karbala which should have been offered on the 10th of muharrum but due to the death of my Grand Mother in a naval hospital on the 9th of muharrum and her funeral on the 10th of muharrum it was delayed.Traditionally haleem or کھچڑا is cooked overnight in a cauldron and the fateha is offered early morning so that it is eaten  before the sun and heat starts to decompose it. Since we are still in the mourning and avoiding the extravagance this year the cauldron was avoided much to the regret of few as the taste of the haleem cooked in a pot can never be the same.Professional cooks, caterers or takeaways help cannot be taken on this occasion.Its one of those things where you either do it yourself or you don't do it at all.

When Papa  died four years ago, i was still a grandson,Son,Brother ,Brother in law an uncle and a very dear nephew to many uncles an aunt and their spouses...but after the  death of my last surviving grandparent my maternal grandmother last monday, i lost my title and benefits of being a grandson :(

A hard days labor never goes un rewarded specially when you are going through emotional ups and downs as a direct result of a personal loss or the imminent danger of...that is what i love about my cable operators....yesterday i watched two movies of the character "Raj" without commercial breaks and very few 30sec pauses ...the songs in those movies were also "intense" and unavoidable...so after supper and socialnetworking when i surfed the channels ....there it was....a movie that i personally believe was shown on my cable atleast a year early...I have never been so desperate watching a Takia movie...tried to change postures just to remain awake til the end....but no...i had too much take-away ...lol

10th muharrum

It was the 10th of Muharrum here a day when every year we remember the grandson of our holy prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) Hazrat imam hussian ,who was martyred in karbala,iraq with many family and friends.Every year its the same routine for me...we cook the haleem in a large couldron all night and wake up with the sound and smoke of burned wood.after offering the fateha a kind of grace we eat haleem with family and friends and distribute the remaining to the poor.I spend the day in anxiety hoping that peace and sanity prevails in the mega city of Karachi and elsewhere in the country.In the evening after dinner i listen to the sermon of a shite scholar on television the sermon is called "sham-e-ghariban" .The sermon starts with a very high intellectual point about religion or the commandment of allah from the holy book quran and ends on the narration of the events that lead to the final battle in which Hazrat imam hussain was martyred.
But this year every thing changed from the routine for me.Today I went to the grandmother's funeral .we buried her right next to the grave of her husband ,my grand father.I usally don't go to the graveyard on 10th muharrum or meet so many relatives in just one place.or eat anything else but haleem.
So why should the doing differently stop there....instead of watching sham-e-ghariban and salaam-e-akhir on television ,i am here doing this blog....facebook and twitter.

My maternal Grandmother died today on the ninth of muharrum 1433h in a naval hospital, She was in her nineties.

jissey ash main yaad-e-khuda na rahi /jissey tesh main khof-e-khuda na raha was one of Apa bi 's favorite verses/quotes....She lived all her life very frugally.I used to visit her very often from my birth till i was in matric in a school in her neighborhood.I observed and listened to her very closely,learned a lot from her.She was very fond of reading.She always kept Shahnama-e-islam with her .She recited the Holy Quran very regularly with tears rolling down her eyes yet ever vigilant and attentive to Mian ji's call from the adjacent room.
Ho halqa-e-yaaran toh baresham ki tarhan narm/ razm-e-Haq o batil ho toh faulad hai momin.
May Allah forgive all my sins and ease the tests of grave becuase of her.Amen

Not extremely but funny indeed....it is unfortunate that the cable peoples suddenly realized its muharrum just minutes before the end of the movie...anyways I can watch the end anytime....54 is very unfair especially after the revelation by people like imran khan and nawaz sherif just today by press conference that they are paying taxes in hundreds of thousands....and bringing back their black money back into the economy which is further subjected to indirect taxation....providing enough money to keep the Pakistan Railways running during my life-time and beyond....lol

Bridget Jones - THE EDGE OF REASON - Trailer

ah the edge of reason and our very dear bridget jones ms .....just like everybody loves raymond in the US...in the pre-mood setting for me to watch this movie in the post juma prayer session ...I saw yesterday the recognition awarded to "squeezed middle " ...lovely...doesn't name "Darcy" reminds us of pride&prejudice ya definitely it must be the busy life or protection that saved our very dear bridget jones ms from competitive sisters.... anyway this series (sequels ) have influenced me greatly....I totally gave up pursuing a career as a human rights lawyer after watching the first ... and stopped writing the diary after the second....I am an absolute hugh grant fan so don't even think for a second that its the first or the last time I have watch this movie.....:P

Even though its a nice ,entertaining ,a little funny and a lot social film...but its not a konkona sen or ajay devgan movie...not even a paresh rawal movie which some might argue....its definitely not recommended for struggling young nuclear families and housewives....lol

 A truly made for theatre movie....its no real fun watching it on HBO pakistan with juggan kazim keeps popping up with an inch tape for garnier light natural .....the real fun would be to hear the gasp and omphs of the ladies and gentlemen while watching this movie.....the script is so well researched than the first movie ....and believe it or not I hear that dream music in a movie after a long time...two of my very favorite songs sung very beautifully....and above all a Happy ending....perfect ten :)

well this may be a good movie ,a cool movie and an interesting movie...but don't you feel its a bit odd....before the release of this movie and between the time i saw it for the first time few months back...a lot has changed in my life....I used to have about 700 twitter followers and over three hundred facebook friends and the average blog traffic of above 1000 per week...hello hi with few high profile politico-journalistic hopefuls...about half a dozen drivers and slaves on a seven to seven duty at the gate keeping an eye on the neighbors.....all or most of it is gone ..vanished in thin air....leaving me clueless as to who may or may not be interested in me....I don't know why some people take movies like these so seriously....I can watch this movie again if there is nothing better to do....:)

Anyways seems like a good movie to me a little out dated but good...I specifically like movies like these especially if they educate a lot in less than 2 hrs ...fortunately I watched it on HBO Pakistan (southasia)....believe it on not today they did exactly the same as I do while re-tweeting with a comment of my own. they cut the "while we were in dessert story ..." to save time for an extra commerical I believe....or may be they wanted to make sure if i am awake and sharing attention..lol

Tonight I watched it on filmax in urdu language ....yes it was fun.When I was in school kids used to try their best to copy Travolta from his movies saturday night fever and Staying Alive but now he has become a mean machine ...all I can do is pray the kids of today and tomorrow don't try to copy what he does right now...
